Water and Wastewater Industry

Chris Lenz is a lawyer and chartered professional engineer with a passion for water and wastewater.  As an engineer, he supervised the construction of a mass concrete dam in a remote mountainous location with its delivery water pipeline in rugged terrain. He was involved in the design of a wastewater treatment plant, pump stations, and conducted flood studies and helped with university hydrological research.

He heads Lenz Moreton, a specialist engineering and construction law firm providing innovative and effective legal solutions for clients involved in the development and maintenance of infrastructure.

“With margins and time frames tighter than ever, those members of the engineering and construction industry involved with infrastructure need to work more cooperatively to ensure the profitability of their business.  Yet participants are so frequently in dispute, or at least at loggerheads about their respective rights and obligations in a market that is currently shrinking. There are better ways of doing business”, Chris said.

He added, “Our clients: consulting engineers, suppliers or Tier 2 contractors, are tied up using legal avenues to recover their money, or defend claims; and the complex technical facts and the strict contractual terms that they have agreed to, make resolution of disputes more difficult. Our ability to understand the technical issues differentiates our firm from a lot of others in the marketplace.”

Over the last 3 years, Chris has upgraded his technical expertise in the important areas of water and wastewater treatment, and Coal Seam Gas water management. Having this knowledge enables Lenz Moreton to quickly grasp your commercial and technical issues.

With our solid grasp of the practical commercial and contractual issues, we have the know-how to help you avoid disputes and develop workable legal solutions, as well having the skills to resolve your problems if they arise.
