Tips for Serving your BCIPA Payment Claim

It is important to serve your BCIPA payment claim on the party to the contract (the person who owes you the money) not the superintendent.

You should keep a record how the payment claim was served in case you need to go to adjudication or commence court proceedings.

Your contract may specify how you can serve notices, however, hand delivery or facsimile, or express post (and keep the peel off number) are usually best because you can easily prove service.
